1-Spring –March to April

Clothes to pack:

Wind Cheaters, full trousers, socks, light woolens, full sleeve sweaters, mufflers, gloves, caps and comfortable winter shoes are some of the major things that you should pack during the spring season in Darjeeling.

2-Summer-May to July

Summer is the most comfortable season in Darjeeling as the weather ranges from 11 degrees to 19 degrees. Generally, the daytime stays sunny and clear which is perfect for enjoying the breathtaking view of the great Himalayas. During the nights, the temperature falls but remains within the comfort levels.

Clothes to pack:

This is the only time when shots can be handy in Darjeeling. Jeans, T-shirts, full sleeve shirts can be worn during the daytime. In the evening when the temperature becomes a bit chilled light sweaters and jackets can be convenient.

3-Monsoon-June to September

Monsoon is generally neglected for traveling to Darjeeling as it rains a lot here. You can hardly see a clear sky. The temperature stays from 13 degrees to 19 degrees which can drop in the evening.

4-Autumn-October to November

Autumn is also very pleasant to stay in Darjeeling as the temperature varies between 18 degrees to 6 degrees. Winter starts in November and a bucket of water stored overnight can be found frozen. This is because the nights and evenings become very cold during this season.

During the daytime normal dress like jeans, T-shirts or full sleeves are perfect. But in the evening or at night you will need light woolens, full sleeve sweaters, windcheaters, inner wears or a jacket to get warm.

5-Winter-December to February

Winter is very bleak in Darjeeling and the temperature remains freezing cold. The average temperature varies between 10 degrees to 2 degrees and the months of January and February are the coldest months of the year. The chances of snowfall are not very frequent in Darjeeling as the temperature hardly goes below Zero degrees. But the higher altitudes witness snowfall during the winter season.

You should be carrying heavy woolens, full body thermal inner wears, warm jackets, gloves, muffler, full sleeve sweaters, woolen gloves, socks and shoes to get warm and protected from the harsh cold of the winter season in Darjeeling.
